Wacker Neuson SE is a German-based developer and manufacturer of equipment and technology for a variety of industries, primarily construction and compaction but also power, concrete, lighting, heating and service. Its product line includes excavators, wheel loaders, telescopic wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, track loaders, telehandlers and dumpers, as well as numerous parts and attachments.
Wacker Neuson’s origins trace back to 1848, when it was established as a small blacksmith company in Dresdon, Germany. Now headquartered in Munich, the company has manufacturing and development facilities in Germany, Austria, the United States, the Philippines, Serbia, Brazil and China.
It also has over 140 sales and service locations, over 300 product groups, over 50 affiliates, over 400 patents and utility models, and more than 5,000 employees worldwide. Wacker Neuson has been included on the SDAX stock market index since 2007. Until 2009 the company was known as Wacker Construction Equipment AG.
The company bills itself as “the most innovative trendsetter in the industry” and defines itself by four principles: expertise, passion, entrepreneurship and agility. Recently it introduced its “Strategy 2022,” a vision for growth in the near future concentrating on the European, North American and Asian markets.
“In the coming years, Wacker Neuson will focus in particular on developing its core markets of Europe and North America,” the company writes on its website, adding, “By 2022, China will also become an important market for the Group. To support this expansion, the company will systematically enlarge its portfolio of competitive light equipment for China and the Asian market.”
