National Transport Insurance (NTI) has announced that it is now an associate member of the Australian Trucking Association (ATA).
Michael Edmonds, general manager of NTI Commercial, said he was pleased with ATA’s decision.
“At NTI we are committed to the safety and sustainability of the Australian trucking industry,” he said. “Being accepted as an associate member of the ATA extends on our foundation sponsor position that we’ve proudly held for the past 30 years and assists in achieving our vision of a safer and more sustainable future.”
ATA Chair Geoff Crouch also expressed enthusiasm over the development.
“Since 1991, NTI has been an ATA Foundation Sponsor and I’m pleased that today’s meeting of the ATA General Council has welcomed them as an associate member,” he said.
Crouch went on to highlight NTI’s more than four decades of experience in the insurance industry and explained that it has been an ally of the country’s trucking industry for most of that time. For example, NTI is a sponsor of the ATA’s National Trucking Industry Awards.
“Throughout the years, NTI has been actively involved in ATA initiatives to improve industry safety, professionalism and viability,” he said, adding, “One of the most exciting of these initiatives is our redesigned Safety Truck, to be launched later this year. This campaign will use state-of-the-art technology to educate young drivers and vulnerable road users about how they can share the road safely with trucks,”
Now that it is an associate member of the ATA, NTI will be able to attend ATA internal committees like the ATA General Council and the Industry Technical Council.
