Caterpillar (Cat), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of construction equipment and machinery, has released a new range of hydraulic hammer attachments for its mini and compact machines.
The new Cat B-Prefix hydraulic hammers are compatible with the company’s skid steer loaders, multi-terrain loaders, compact track loaders, mini hydraulic excavators and backhoe loaders. They are applicable to a variety of construction and light-demolition projects, including site prep, masonry, landscaping and concrete breaking.
The hammers are available in B4(s) and B6(s) silenced as well as B4 and B6 non-silenced versions. Designed for “plug-and-play” operation, they offer optimum life-cycle value.
According to Cat, the B-Prefix hammers use a simple design guaranteeing reliability, versatility and simplified maintenance. Matching hydraulic kits are also available as a package solution.
The hammers feature an industry-standard modular design with two moving parts in the piston and valve. The bushings are field-replaceable—and the lower bushing can be rotated 90-degrees for heightened wear performance.
The piston design and surface finish facilitate superior oil retention and seal life, while an inward-type oil-control valve enhances structural integrity and decreases failure rate.
A gas-fired operation cycle provides sustained high production. Its main components, including the cylinder, back-head, front-head, piston and tool, are manufactured with first-rate materials and processes.
The mounting brackets are compatible with both H-prefix and B-prefix models. The tools for the hammers include moil, cone, parallel and transverse chisel, allowing for an adaptable hammer suitable for a broad range of applications.
Included in the package is a toolbox containing a charging kit, hammer paste and spare parts.
