Daimler Truck and Bus Australia, a leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles including prime mover trucks, recently announced that it has brought on board an industry expert to help oversee its growing network of dealers.
Dan Stevens has over 40 years of experience in the field. For 14 years he served as President, Equity Partner and Chief Operating Officer of three large dealership organizations for Daimler Trucks North America.
“Dan has been a remarkably successful dealer for the best-selling truck brand in one of the largest heavy duty markets in the world, so he has a vast amount of knowledge to share,” said Daniel Whitehead, Daimler Truck and Bus President and CEO.
Stevens previously managed a group that included 25 Freightliner dealerships and more than 1,000 employees. The group delivered around 7,000 commercial vehicles every year.
In his new role, Stevens will travel frequently to Australia, where he will be responsible for visiting dealerships, offering consultations, heading presentations, overseeing the application of improvement initiatives, and giving feedback to the company’s senior management.
According to Greg Lovrich, Daimler Truck and Bus Aftersales and Network Development Director, Stevens was already known to many Australian dealers.
“We brought Dan out to Australia to speak at a sales conference a few years ago,” he said. “He was so impressive and our dealers told us his presentation was extremely valuable. So when we had to chance to bring Dan on as an advisor and mentor, we jumped at the opportunity.”
Citing the success of Daimler Truck and Bus products, Stevens said he is excited about helping the Australian market reach its potential.
“The timing couldn’t be better to engage with the Australian Daimler dealer network,” he said.
