Liebherr to display 30 machines at Conexpo 2020

Liebherr began doing business in the US in 1970, which means its 50th anniversary is coming up in 2020. The company plans to mark the occasion at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2020, scheduled for March 10-14 in Las Vegas. Liebherr will also exhibit 30 of its machines at the show. As the company writes on its website:

“From an earnest start in Virginia in 1970, Liebherr has built its USA business on a foundation of trust, innovation and engagement with customers. Five decades later, the company’s incredible growth, diversity and stability is tangible evidence of how Liebherr employees are united by success as the company continually moves toward new achievements. Each decade in business and each customer served has positioned Liebherr in a leadership role in multiple industries, such as petrochemical, transportation, aerospace, construction, earthmoving and mining.”

According to the same press release, Liebherr will be showing off hydraulic excavators, wheel loaders, crawler loaders and tractors, deep foundation machines, material handlers, tower cranes, mobile and crawler cranes, and a concrete pump. Altogether, the company’s machines will take up more than 4,900 m².

Specifically, Liebherr will display:

  • Its new generation—Generation 8—of crawler excavators
  • Two new cranes: the LTM 1650-8.1 mobile crane and the LR 1800-1.0 crawler crane
  • New assistance systems for wheel loaders
  • The 110 D-K crawler concrete pump
  • Components: hydraulic pumps and motors, a diesel engine, bearings, and a new planetary gearbox series
  • The HS 8200 duty cycle crawler crane
  • The 125 K fast-erecting crane
  • 340 EC-B of the new EC-B Flat-Top crane series
  • The A 920 Litronic wheeled excavator
  • The A 922 Rail Litronic rail-road excavator
  • The material handler LH 30 M Industry Litronic
  • The material handler LH 60 M Industry Litronic

Additionally, 2020 will see Liebherr open an expanded headquarters in Newsport News, Virginia, with 251,000 square feet of space added. According to Liebherr, “The new facilities will add space that will support employees in sales, service and product support and are evidence of our long-term commitment to the US market.”
