SANY Equipment Dispatched for Rehabilitation Project

Goscor Earthmoving Equipment (GEM), one of South Africa’s largest distributers of SANY brand construction machinery, has dealt more than $1 million worth of SANY equipment to a construction and rehabilitation company to be used for a rehabilitation project at the Arnot coal mine in Mpumalanga.

The company superintending the project, Ukubhukuda Trading, recently received delivery of two SY956H front-end loaders, a SMG200 Grader, a SY500H excavator and a SY335 excavator.

The partnership between GEM and Ukubhukuda Trading—including its subsidiaries Tipper & Co and E&J Construction, which have been tasked with completing the rehabilitation project—began in early 2017 when the latter bought a SYL956H1 front-end loader and a SY335 excavator.

Owing to its digging depth and transport length, the SY335 excavator is optimal for general mining and construction applications.

Meanwhile, the SYL956H1 front-end loader is ideal for heavy-duty mining operations. In addition to a bucket capacity of 2.7 m3 to 3.2 m3 standard and a 4.5mᶾ coal bucket, the machine features a uniquely efficient power system. Its rotary automatic gearbox improves travel speed by 10% and boosts towing force by more than 6%.

GEM eMalahleni Sales Executive Lee Sampson commented: “As soon as Ukubhukuda Trading commenced with rehabilitation work at Arnot, they purchased an extra two machines, and we are in the process of delivering a further three SYL956H1 front-end loaders.”

E&J Construction also purchased a SY500H excavator and another SYL956H1 front-end loader in May. According to Sampson, the companies are currently working to finalise a further two deals.

“We have established a good working relationship with Ukubhukuda Trading and its subsidiaries to date,” Sampson added. “Their satisfaction with our SANY machines and GEM service to date is the key reason for the continued orders.”

The buckets on the SYL956H1 have been modified by GEM to broaden the size range from 3.2 m3 to 4.5 m3, improving productivity and turnaround time for its mining clients.
